I am currently the Libra Professor of Social Sciences at the University of Maine at Augusta. I am deeply interested in understanding contexts of injustice and in working towards more just and culturally resonant ways of understanding and addressing social issues. I believe that by working with communities, researchers can better understand contexts of injustice and creatively engage with others around how to address those contexts. My current research projects include an exploration of the discursive context of human trafficking in Hawai'i and work on understanding how different groups move through the Hawai'i homeless service system. I have Ph.D. in community and cultural psychology from the University of Hawai'i and a M.Ed. in counseling psychology from Temple University.
